418th Sqdn.. Crew joined the 100th on 22 Feb 44.Their un-named aircraft
42-30278 was shot down in the great air battle at Haseluene on the
(Mission 250) 6 Mar 44 Berlin mission. This great air battle cost the
100th dearly, it occurred at noon on the 6th. In this crew there were no
survivors. It is believed they were on either their first or second
mission. The exact location of the loss of this aircraft has not been
identified. Most likely they were shot down by Luftwaffe fighters. See
